BRISTOL'S biggest and most influential business organisation is offering a helping hand to firms looking to access grants as part of the Going for Growth campaign.
The Bristol Post has joined forces with the West of England Local Enterprise to launch the most ambitious campaign in the paper's history.
The aim is to hand out £25 million worth of grants to firms in the Bristol area with the ambition of kick-starting the area's economy back into life.
Bristol's Chamber of Commerce is backing the scheme and is offering practical help to firm's thinking of taking part.
Managing director of the chamber Phil Smith said: "Anything that can be done to support business in the current climate has to be supported.

"There are plenty of factors which can effect the economy such as transport and demand from the market but accessing finance has been a big issue.
"This is one way firms which are looking to grow can get help and a support and as an organisation we have been supporting the scheme."
Mr Smith added: "Of course it is stressful running a business and time is a very expensive commodity.
"We are offering help in terms of help and support and advice when it can be a time consuming process...

How to Enter
The Going for Growth campaign gives firms a unique chance to apply for grants worth up to £1 million.
The West of England Local Enterprise Partnership is looking to hand out £25 million worth of funding to small and medium-sized enterprises.
The money is being made available to firms in five distinct areas:

- For firms involved in research and development
- When capital investment is made by small and medium-sized enterprises
- Organisations planning to invest in training schemes
- Organisations involved in the recruitment of disabled and disadvantaged people
- Support for small firms created or launched be female entrepreneurs
