Bristol’s mayor George Ferguson, himself a successful businessman, added: “The most important thing is to send out the message loud and clear that Bristol is a city that is open and ready to do business. Anything that is being done to help business in the city and the surrounding area has to be applauded and the Going for Growth campaign is a great idea. We need to get business moving again so the economy can return to where it should be. The council and the Local Enterprise Partnership are working together to make sure that Bristol is best placed to become major European city and an economic powerhouse and that should be applauded.

How to Enter
The Going for Growth campaign gives firms a unique chance to apply for grants worth up to £1 million.
The West of England Local Enterprise Partnership is looking to hand out £25 million worth of funding to small and medium-sized enterprises.
The money is being made available to firms in five distinct areas:
